KGCS to feature Joplin City Council coverage, Newsmakers program with Charlie Davis

The upcoming “Newsmakers” interview program on KGCS-TV will focus on the start of the session for the Missouri legislature, while the station will also provide coverage of a special Joplin City Council work session.

On “Newsmakers,” State Rep. Charlie Davis will discuss the issues facing lawmakers in 2016. They include ethics, voter ID, Real ID, transportation funding and education funding.

It will air the following times:

Sunday, Jan. 31 – 5:30 p.m.
Monday, Feb. 1 – 5:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Feb. 2 – 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Feb. 3 – 5:30 p.m.

It will also be broadcast at 5 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, on KOAM-TV, and is available to view on the KGCS YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdvTt3hpKR0.

KGCS will also provide live coverage of a special City Council work session set for 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8. The meeting will cover building permit changes and change orders.

Regular meetings set for Monday, Feb. 1, and Tuesday, Feb. 16, will also be covered. All meetings will be re-aired at 7:30 p.m. the following day.

KGCS-TV is a service of the Department of Communication at Missouri Southern State University. Programming may be seen over the air on digital channel 22 and on regional cable television systems.
