UPDATE
On 1-9-16 around 1429 hours officers with the Joplin Police Department were dispatched to
Food-4-Less in reference to Michael Jacobs. When officers arrived Jacobs was located and found to be in
good health. He is no longer considered a missing person.
(Original News Release)
On 01/08/2016 at 0037 hours, officers responded to the 1700 block of S Byers Ave in reference
to a possible runaway.
It was determined that Michael Jacobs, a 20 year old male, who was a
Ward of the State, had gotten into a verbal disturbance with a foster sibling and fled his
residence. Jacobs has been diagnosed with medical conditions which may cause him to have
seizures, and it is uncertain if he is taking his prescribed medications for the conditions.
Jacobs
was last seen leaving in the 1700 block of S Byers Ave traveling on foot in an unknown direction
of travel.
Jacobs is described as a white male, six feet tall, and 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a
gray hooded jacket with blue jeans.
Jacobs has been entered into NCIC as a missing person.
