JFD investigating structure fire at Joplin Airport

The Joplin Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at 7331 N 43 (Joplin Airport) at 9:59 PM, Wednesday, 27 January, 2016. 

Fire crews arrived on the scene at 10:05 PM to find an outbuilding on Airport grounds with heavy smoke showing. There was no one in the building. Crews were able to extinguish the fire which was burning storage material and shelving.

The fire was declared under control at 10:12 PM and crews remained on scene until 11:53 PM.
No injuries were reported to either fire personnel or others in the area. Six Joplin Fire units and 13 Joplin Fire personnel responded, as well as the Airport FD, JPD and METS.
The cause of the fire was is under investigation by the JFD.
