MSSU Activities for week of January 25

The Oscar-nominated “Bridge of Spies” will be screened next week at Missouri Southern State University.
Set during the Cold War, and American lawyer is recruited to defend a suspected Soviet spy in court and later to exchange him for a captured American spy plane pilot. Rated PG-13, it stars Tom Hanks, Mark Rylance and Alan Alda.
It received six Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor and Original Screenplay.
The event is free and open to the campus community.
Other activities planned include grocery bingo, a presentation on creating a successful business plan and basketball vs. Missouri Western.
Tuesday, Jan. 26
Blood Drive 2016: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Connor Ballroom in Billingsly Student Center. Sponsored by Missouri Southern’s Student Nurse Association.
Career Coach Series: Leadership Luncheon: 12:20 p.m. to 12:50 p.m., Billingsly Student Center 309. Students will learn about a variety of topics from industry professionals.
Grocery Bingo: 12:20 p.m., Lion’s Den. Students will have a chance to win a bag of free groceries.
Thursday, Jan. 28
Movie: Bridge of Spies: 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., Phelps Theatre.
Friday, Jan. 29
National Puzzle Day- Custom Puzzles: 10:30 a.m., Billingsly Student Center. Students can create their own custom puzzles.
How to Write a Successful Business Plan: 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Plaster Hall 108. Participants will learn the key elements of writing a business plan and how to use it as a management tool. Cost is $39 per person. Details: 417-625-3128.

Saturday, Jan. 30
Women’s Basketball vs Missouri Western State: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.
Men’s Basketball vs Missouri Western State: 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., Leggett and Platt Athletic Center.
