Joplin city offices to close February 15, council meeting rescheduled

In observance of President’s Day on Monday, February 15, the Joplin City Council’s regularly-scheduled third Monday meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 16. The rescheduled meeting will begin at 6 p.m. and will be held in the Council Chambers on 5th floor of City Hall, 602 South Main.

Also in recognition of the holiday, City Hall and other City services, including the Sunshine Lamp Trolley and MAPS system, will be closed on President’s Day, Feb. 15. Services of the Police and Fire department, as well as Airport operations, will continue to be available 24/7.
Residential trash service will NOT change due to this closing, and Monday pick-ups will be completed on that day.

KGCS-TV, Missouri Southern State University’s television station, will broadcast the City Council meeting live on February 16, and will offer a re-broadcast at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17.
KGCS-TV can be found on broadcast channel 22. If viewers subscribe to CableOne, KGCS can be viewed on cable channel 7, and if subscribers to MediaCom, the station can be found on cable channel 2.
