An Oklahoma woman was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and felony second degree assault. following a one-vehicle accident 8:30 p.m. Wednesday on MO 43, four miles north of Seneca.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2003 Ford Taurus driven by Elayna M. Buttress, 29, Grove, Oklahoma, ran off the roadway and struck a ditch.
Buttress was treated for minor injuries and a passenger, Antonio M. Bachiller-Sharpe, 9, Grove, for moderate injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.
Buttress was also charged with felony possession of contraband in a jail facility, misdemeanor possession of less than 35 grams of marijuana, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and careless and imprudent driving.
