A Carl Junction teen was killed in a two-vehicle accident 4:20 p.m. today on Route YY west of County Road 300.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 1992 Peterbilt 379 driven by Robert J. Sales, Jr., 24, Goodman, struck the rear of a 1965 Ford Mustang driven by Jensen L. Smith, 19, Carl Junction.
Smith was pronounced dead at the scene by Jasper County Coroner Rob Chapel at 4:40 p.m.
The fatality was the 27th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
