Highway Patrol arrests Joplin residents on drug charges

The Highway Patrol arrested two Joplin residents on drug charges 2:04 p.m. today in Jasper County..

According to online records, Marcus L. Johnson, 25, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance.

Jessica A. Palmer-Whitlock, 28, was charged with felony distribution of a controlled substance, possession of less than 35 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, a felony Jasper County warrant for distribution of a controlled substance, a felony Jasper County warrant for possession of a controlled substance, Joplin Police Department misdemeanor warrants for no vehicle insurance, obstructing an officer, resisting arrest, and larceny, and a Newton County felony warrant for tampering with a motor vehicle.
