Open house scheduled to discus widening of Zora

(From the City of Joplin)

During last year’s construction season, the City of Joplin completed the utility relocation phase of the Zora Widening project. The street widening construction phase will begin in April 2016. Upon completion of this final phase, Zora will be a five lane road with pedestrian sidewalks and bicycle lanes.

At this time, we do not anticipate closing Zora to through traffic, but as construction progresses, local traffic should expect periodic lane closures and traffic delays.

In anticipation of the April start of street widening construction activities on Zora Street, between N. Missouri Avenue and Range Line Road, a public open house has been scheduled for area residents and interested public.

The open house will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2016 at the Royal Heights United Methodist Church, located at 1612 Euclid Avenue.

A representative from APAC Missouri, the contractor for the project; along with city staff, will be available to discuss the project.

If you have any questions, please call the Engineering Department at 624-0820, ext. 530.
