JHS junior selected for West Point Summer Leadership Experience

Othellis (Tre) Roper III, a junior at Joplin High School, has been selected to attend the Summer Leadership Experience (SLE) at West Point this summer.

Tre's goal is to eventually attend West Point, serve his country, and then either become a JROTC instructor or a history teacher.

Tre has been active in numerous activities. As a part of JROTC, Tre served in capacities such as Company Commander, Drill Team Platoon Commander, and Raider Team Executive Officer. He has been a part of the high school swim team and the symphonic band. He attended Leadership in Practice camp, Joplin's annual Great Day of Service, and the Freeman Health Academy.

A Go Fund Me page has been set up to help pay for Tre to attend SLE.

At this writing, $405 has been raised, with a goal of $1,000.
