We're celebrating a quarter century of excellence.
We have world-renowned historian, college professor, Emmy Award-winning filmmaker, and bestselling author Niall Ferguson joining us to help celebrate this special milestone in our school's life. Dr. Ferguson will meet with our Upper School students during their assembly TODAY, and will deliver the keynote address at 7 p.m..
Dr. Niall Ferguson, is Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University, and a senior fellow of the Center for European Studies, Harvard, where he served for twelve years as the Laurence A. Tisch Professor of History. He is also a visiting professor at Tsinghua University, Beijing, and the Diller-von Furstenberg Family Foundation Distinguished Scholar at the Nitze School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, DC.
Dr. Ferguson was the Philippe Roman Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics in 2010-11. He is a member of the board of trustees of the New York Historical Society. His many prizes and awards include the Benjamin Franklin Prize for Public Service (2010), the Hayek Prize for Lifetime Achievement (2012), the Ludwig Erhard Prize for Economic Journalism (2013), and the Philip Merrill Award of the American Council of Trustees and Alumni for Outstanding Contributions to Liberal Arts Education (2016).
He is the author of more than a dozen bestselling books including: Civilization: The West and the Rest, The Pity of War: Explaining World War One, The Great Degeneration: How Institutions Decay and Economies Die, The World’s Banker: The History of the House of Rothschild, Empire: The Rise and Demise of the British World Order and the Lessons for Global Power, andKissinger, 1923-1968: The Idealist.
