(From the Jasper Police Department)

Possession of Controlled Substance Arrest

On Monday, April 9th, 2018 at 1:27 pm, Jasper officers made contact with two subjects occupying a black GMC Yukon parked in front of Pete’s Convenience Store. Contact was made in reference to suspicious activity.

After investigation, it was determined the driver had a revoked driver’s license and by their own admittance, is the reason they did not want to pull out of the parking lot due to a police officer sitting on the parking lot.

A search of the vehicle yielded Xanax pills not in a marked container.

Jeffrey Carter of Joplin was arrested for driving while revoked. Brandi Rader of Joplln was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

Note: Both Carter and Rader are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
