On Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 8:35 p.m. the Joplin Police Department responded to I-44 Eastbound at the 12.8-mile marker for a single vehicle crash.
A 1998 Hyundai Accent left the interstate and rolled several times, landing in heavy brush. The driver, Frances L Wallace, 33, Reeds, Missouri, was transported with life threatening injuries. No other people or vehicles were involved in the crash.
On Saturday, April 7, 2018 Wallace died from her injuries in the crash. Alcohol and drugs are contributing factors to this crash.
