Autopsy determines no foul play in death of man found at I-44/49 interchange, body identified

The deceased has been identified as Thomas L. Bulluck, 48, Sedalia, Missouri. His vehicle had been located abandoned at the 11.6 Mile Marker of I-44 in Joplin on June 5, 2018. The Missouri State Highway Patrol towed his vehicle. Bullock was reported as a missing person to Sedalia, Missouri Police Department on June 6, 2018. The autopsy was conducted this morning and confirmed the identity and found no signs of foul play.

Update #1: The deceased is believed to be an adult male. No positive identification has been made and an autopsy has been scheduled for Thursday at 9am at Frontier Forensics in Kansas City.

This morning, on July 10, 2018 at 09:39 a.m., the Joplin Police Department was notified by a MODOT Mowing Crew that it had discovered a body at the interchange of I-44/49. 

Officers responded and located the body on a hillside on the north side of the the I-44 Westbound transition ramp to Southbound Interstate 49.

Joplin Police Detectives were called to the scene and are conducting a death investigation. The Missouri State Highway Patrol was also dispatched to the call due to the location, and are assisting our officers with information in the investigation.
