The International Film Festival offerings at Missouri Southern State University will be discussed by Dr. William Kumbier, professor of English and philosophy, and host Jeff Skibbe on “Missouri Southern Live!” at 6 p.m. Wednesday on 88.7 KXMS.
The Missouri Southern Institute of International Studies and the Harrison and June Kash International Film Society have prepared 10 Spanish films to be shown in Plaster Hall’s Cornell Auditorium. The first film, “Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown” (1988), was screened on Tuesday.
The film festival ties in with the Spain Semester at Missouri Southern. A committee chose films that encompass many decades and styles, ranging from comedy to noir, and subjects that span from cultural heritage to veiled political references, giving insight into the lives of Spaniards. Admission is free and open to the public.
