A wide variety of education programs, campus clubs and organizations will be featured when Missouri Southern State University hosts Third Thursday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, in downtown Joplin
Presented by the Downtown Joplin Alliance, the monthly event spotlights local art, music, entertainment and food on Main Street, between First and Seventh streets.
The university will have more than 70 tables set up during the event, featuring the Show Me Gold program, the Honors Program, the Theater Department, the MSSU Bookstore, Student Affairs, Upward Bound, the cheer team and departments ranging from EMS and radiology to social sciences and psychology. There will also be a Mobile Crime Scene Unit from the Criminal Justice Department, pottery demonstrations and student athletes on hand to meet with fans. A reception will be offered at Club 609.
A shuttle will be available to transport Missouri Southern students living on campus to and from Third Thursday throughout the evening.
