Joplin Police Department promotions announced

With the retirement of Chief Jason Burns, there have been several promotions within the Joplin Police Department that were effective as of today. The following is a list of all promotions that were recently made within the department:

-Sloan Rowland has been promoted to Major and will serve as the Assistant Chief of Police

-Joe Moore has been promoted to Captain and will serve as the Patrol Bureau Commander

-Shawn Dodson has been promoted to Sergeant and will serve as a Patrol Bureau Sergeant

-Brett Kohler has been promoted to Corporal and will serve as a Patrol Bureau Corporal

I would like to congratulate each of these individuals on their promotions and we wish them well in their new assignments. I have the utmost confidence that they will all succeed in their new positions.
