FROM THE NEOSHO CITY MANAGER
Our recent snowfall, combined with arctic temperatures, has created a challenge for snow removal.
Although our snow crews have been working to clear the streets the cold temperatures have hampered our ability to remove all of the densely packed snow.
In addition to snow plows, we also apply salt to roads in an effort to melt the snow and ice. But, as the temperature drops, salt’s effectiveness slows to the point that when the temperature gets near 10 degrees or below the salt is barely working.
Fortunately, the forecast calls for warmer temperatures tomorrow and into the weekend. As a result you’ll see a big improvement in our roadways as the salt speeds up the melting process and the natural sunshine helps us dry out. Thank you for your patience.
