Comic and magician Michael Kent will perform at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, in Corley Auditorium at Missouri Southern State University.
Kent – whose accolades include Campus Activities Magazine’s Entertainer of the Year, and the Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities’ Magician of the Year – offers a blend of irreverent comedy and satire. He has performed for audiences across the globe, including more than 500 college campuses.
The event is free and open to the campus community – faculty, staff, students, alumni and guests. The first 100 students to present a valid student ID will receive a free T-shirt.
Other activities planned on campus include a visit by a speed caricature artist, a two-day class on using Microsoft Excel and a senior percussion recital.
Tuesday, Feb. 9
Make and Take Valentine Goodies: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Lions Den. Students can make bracelets, keychains and other items during this Healthy Relationships Week activity.
Valentine’s Bingo: 12:20 p.m., Lions Den. Students will be able to play for a chance at prizes.
Microsoft Excel Level 1: 1:30 to 4:40 p.m., Room 320 of Plaster Hall. Participants will learn how to build, format, save and print Excel workbooks, create basic worksheets and more. Cost for the two-day training is $124. It will continue on Feb. 11. Details: 417-625-3128.
“Gimme Shelter”: 2:30 p.m. in Billingsly Student Center’s Phelps Theatre. Rated PG-13, admission is free.
Senior Percussion Recital: 7:30 p.m., Corley Auditorium. Music major Anja Subasic will offer her senior recital.
Wednesday, Feb. 10

Thursday, Feb. 11
Adam Pate, Speed Caricature Artist: 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Lions Den. Pate, who is capable of producing between 60 and 75 caricatures per hour, will create pencil drawings of students.

Friday, Feb. 12
