Crowder offering new students jump start on spring semester

(From Crowder College)

Crowder College will offer new students an opportunity to get a “jump start” on the spring semester at an event called Start Smart.

This event provides students and their families an opportunity to make sure they have the tools they need to succeed.

The session will begin with a welcome to students and parents, if they want to participate. A panel of faculty members will outline expectations for students and how parents can be supportive. Following this session students will be taken to a computer lab to gain access to their Crowder network account. During this time parents in attendance will have a question and answer session with Crowder employees who have college age students. The program wraps up with tours of campus for those who want to find specific classrooms.

Start Smart has been offered for several years in the fall semester, but this is the first the Neosho campus has offered one prior to the spring semester. The Cassville and Nevada locations are offering sessions as well.

Students are asked to register prior to attending one of the two-hour sessions will be held as follows:

Neosho: January 12 | 9-11am

Nevada: January 12 | 10am

Cassville: January 9 | 10am-noon or 5-7pm
