More snow tonight for Joplin area, winter weather and wind chill advisories issued

...More snow tonight then bitterly cold...

.Another quick moving system will bring additional snowfall to
the area late tonight into Monday. Ongoing snowfall this
afternoon should come to an end by the late afternoon and the
current advisory will be allowed to expire at 3 pm. The next
round of snow should begin up in central Missouri around midnight
and continue to around midday. An additional one to two inches of
snow can be expected for most areas.

After the snowfall, bitterly cold temperatures can be expected
Monday night into Tuesday. Wind chills will dip into the ten to
twenty below zero range.

TONIGHT TO NOON CST MONDAY...
...WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM MONDAY TO NOON
CST TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Snow expected. Very cold wind chills expected. Plan on
  slippery road conditions, including during the morning commute
  on Monday. Total snow accumulations of up to two inches are
  expected. Expect wind chills to range from 5 above zero to 20
  below zero.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Kansas and central, east central,
   south central, southwest and west central Missouri.

* WHEN...For the Winter Weather Advisory, from midnight tonight
  to noon CST Monday. For the Wind Chill Advisory, from 6 PM
  Monday to noon CST Tuesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Be prepared for reduced visibilities at
  times. The cold wind chills will cause frostbite in as little
  as 30 minutes to exposed skin.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered
roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can
be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

A Wind Chill Advisory means that cold air and the wind will
combine to create low wind chills. Frost bite and hypothermia can
occur if precautions are not taken. Make sure you wear a hat and
gloves.
