Barton County Sheriff asking for clothing, materials for Irwin man who lost home in fire

(From the Barton County Sheriff's Office)

The Sheriff is asking for the assistance of the community.

The fire today has left one man with just the clothes on his back.

Arnold Spencer is 67 years old and had moved to the Irwin area to assist and be close to a family member.

Mr. Spencer was trying to defrost water lines with a space heater to his trailer home when it caught fire. Mr. Spencer was living in his mobile home and it did not have insurance.

The Sheriff's Office has a box in the lobby of the jail if you would be interested in helping or showing some good will. He is in need of socks, underwear, t-shirts (size large), pants (approximate size 33x33) and hygiene items, or just anything you could think of to help him in his time of need.

We would like to try and collect some items until Monday and take the items to him then. If you have any questions you can call or come by the Barton County Sheriff's Office at  417-682-5541. Thank you from the staff and officers at the Sheriff's Office.
